His family comes from Lucca in Tuscany, where he lived from 1992 to 1993. In a lengthy research lasting several months, Gambini gathered information pertaining nine generations of ancestors, all of them born in the town of Lucca: Domenico Gambini (1660-?); Paolino Gambini (1686-1756); Lorenzo Gambini (1740-1807), married Maria Margherita Strambi (1738-1807); married1778-1879), married Maria Caterina Ruberti (1778-?); Alessandro Gambini (1820-?), married Maria Olivia Marraccini (1821-?); Antonio Gambini (1852-1932), married Graziosa Fustini (1860-1943); Luigi Gambini (1883-1953), married Isola Strambi (1884-1965); Dino Gambini (1914-2003), married Margherita Pieroni (1915-2006); Ilaria Anna Maria Gambini (1945-2008).
